I have a couple of comments that I would like to make and then I have a question. I thought this was a very well written paper that provided a lot of insightful information about story-telling to a person who stutters. I feel that often times it is assumed that when someone tells a personal narrative, he/she will be the only one to benefit from it. However, by telling a narrative to someone else, I think a deep bond can be created in which both individuals benefit and feel that they aren't as alone as they may have thought. I think that telling personal stories, whether it is a person who stutters or not, can be a good therapeutic approach to finding some answers and healing. I also found it interesting that there were so many resources to locate in which to find personal narratives by a variety of authors. My question is this? what are some suggestions for people (whether they stutter or not) who may want to share their personal narrative, but are having a difficult time beginning?
