Good question about how young is too young. Usually the child will tell their parents that they have been getting teased and then that is of course when you want to talk about it. Sometimes there may even be a preschooler who is being teased and one can talk abut being teased at that age too by using simpler terms. At that age I will not mention the word stuttering but would refer to it by saying getting stuck on words, or tight speech etc. I would not go into a real in-depth kind of thing at that age but would make sure to listen and to knowledge their feelings. If the teasing continued at the pre-school or day care place then one needed to talk to the teachers.
