Steve,

I won't comment on the following e-mail message I've just received, other than to ask: "Doesn't this sound like the 'pain of stuttering' ?"

"Iam being a stammer person all my entire life.I have a hard time to speak at home with my husband, at school, with my friend. Specially when it about to talk on the phone i can take two minute to say one word. I feel very inconfortable and some time i have a good time to cry, because i want to be able to speak like other people. I have a eighteen mouths daughter when i start talking , she look at me like a strange person.I realy need help to improve my speech.I know it won't go away immediatly but if ican do anything to reduce i will do it . iam very determined. Please send me some advice.sugestion , book, tape.....who will help me to improve my speech."

Steve, of course we're immediately sending her our information kit. But we feel woefully inadequate. This mother, ashamed before her 18-month year old daughter, is truly feeling pain.

Mike
