I truly admire your courage and honesty in the writing of your article, Mr. Hughes. While reading the "loss of innocence", I felt a mixture of sadness at what you had gone through and pleasure at the bittersweet "peace offerings" of your school chums. Your account of "the rage" was chillingly sad. How hard adolescence is anyway. It is unimaginable what goes through the mind of the young person who strives to live a somewhat "normal" life with a stutter. It also causes one to reflect on all children who don't "quite fit the norm", no matter what their differences might be. This was an extremely moving paper, Mr. Hughes. Thank you for having the courage to share your feelings. It motivates one to go outside of themselves and take a good look at those around them. Keep up the good work.
