One thing I like most about ISA is the fact that the member associations of ISA play such a central role in deciding on ISA's activities.
For example, before the recent Sixth World Congress of People Who Stutter, in Ghent, Belgium in July 2001, member associations met for two days to arrive at decisions about topics such as revisions to the ISA constitution, and choice of the site for the next world congress (it will be in Australia). That kind of involvement in decision making is a key element in the ongoing development of ISA.
