Very good article - sad, but good : )

When stuttering specialization came out, many SLPs interested in stuttering were very excited and happy. I was/am too and plan on pursuing the specialization, but I also see where it could be bad for us. I can easily see graduate programs and those SLPs not interested in stuttering (the majority it seems) not educating others and themselves about the disorder due to the presence of stuttering specialists. Why learn something about stuttering when you can just call upon the services of a specialist? The problem is that there are and will be (compared to the population of the country) too few specialists to go around.

Going back to your article - what are your short term/long term possible solutions? It seems like you've put a lot of thought into this - so I'd love to hear what you're thinking.
