Your point falls under the heading of "sad but true" - in the future the treatment of people who stutter may be left to "charlatans." (Now that I think about it, however, there already are a number of those folks around, in spite of our best efforts.)
Unprepared SLPs would probably fall under the category of "charlatans" as well, I suppose - particularly if they *thought* they knew what they were doing. ;-)>
