Hi! I was just thinking that one way help the situation is to go out there and educate the everyday SLP about stuttering. For instance, when I move to a new area (which seems to be far too often nowadays : ) I volunteer to do an inservice on childhood stuttering. People are always very happy to have me speak on the topic. If every "specialist" (which doesn't include me yet cause I'm too young) was to go out and give inservices in their area SLPs - say their local school district - maybe people would get more excited about the best disorder out there : ) - to study and practice that is : )
