In fact is is much less common in China to share feelings in an open way than in the Western cultures. Especially in delicate matters like a person's "shortcomings" or disablities it is often seen that all related feelings and behaviours are just a "non issue" for the surrounding persons, the very close family thus excluded. This fact also has negative influence on the establishment of self help groups in China, which the International Stuttering Association (ISA) tries to do.
