There is presently no profession of Speech Pathology in China...although there are small steps being accomplished in a number of places. Stefan Hoffmann, in Beijing, has worked with a Dr. Li and his staff (all MD's) who have become interested in persons with communication problems, and I have heard of other efforts in Shanghai and a few other big cities. The government has shown very little interest in this area...
