Dear Dr.Sheree Reese and Joseph Jordania: I just read your paper "Stuttering in the Chinese population in some South-East Asian countries: A Preliminary investigation on attitude and Incidence"in the Internet. You are interested in stuttering population in China, and you are willing to help millions of stutterers in China, which impressed me. I am a former serious "adult stutterer",now working as a doctor of internal medicine in a hospital in Shanghai. I am also a friend of W.H.Perkins(American speech-language pathologist,Professor Emeritus at the university of Southern California, now retired), and Stefan Hoffmann(vice chairman of ISA).It is Stefan who told me to look at your paper in the web. what is my comment on your paper? In my opinion, there is no difference between Chinese stutterers and other nation's stutterers. I highly appreciate your idea to help Chinese stutterers with the achievements of speech pathology. If possible, I am glad to help you. One of my published papers on stuttering, which is translated into English by myself, is attached to this e-mail.You can know more about stuttering research in China from it. Regards! Huang Haiyin M.D.
