Dear Dr.Joseph Jordania: Thank you for your comment on my own comment. Sixteen years ago when I was a student in Shanghai Medical University(at that time I was 22 years old), I was a serious stutterer, almost completely lost my ability to associate with other people(like a mute), much less to associate with patients. I could never be a doctor. However, in about four years time, I gradually recovered through the instructions of experts and my own efforts. Now I am a good physician. Besides daily clinical work, I can give lectures and speeches fluently before hundreds of people. Now I 've been working as a doctor of internal medicine for about 16 years, I speak fluently, none believes that I had been a serious stutterer. Frankly speaking, sometimes I also stutter, but it can not prevent me from explaining my idea clearly, it is different from my stuttering 16 years ago in nature and extent. Stefan Hoffmann, the vice chairman of ISA, had a chat with me last month, he knows me. If stuttering can not prevent one from expressing his (her) idea clearly, and he (she)can do any job, including doctor, teacher and seller. He (she) is no longer a stutterer. Stuttering itself can not be eliminated completely. Would you agree to the idea? In this point of view , I am a “former stutterer”. In my memory, I am a stutterer from 10-26 years old, Was I an “adult stutterer”? I am glad to exchange opinions with you. Thank you very much! Haiyin
