Hi Emily,

Lee Reeves, a good friend of mine and now Chairman of the National Stuttering Association, has said many times "You never know whose lives you touch." That is SOOOO true! Growing up with many really world class people at Shady Trails was one of the best things that ever happened to me. The Olympic champion, the Miss America contestant, the pro soccer player, the powerful paraplegic guy who could climb a rope like a rocket... those people reached out and touched me - and all the campers - deeper that I'm sure they ever knew. One of legacies of Shady Trails is that now I realize that ** I ** could be touching kids and shaping their lives for decades to come. That's an amazing revelation. And an awesome responsibility. I wish I could convey that principle well to others. I try as best I can in Toastmasters and in my professional life. In the few instances I HAVE known about touching other's lives, those are some of the most meaningful events in my life. Hmmm... I should write a paper on just that topic...

"You never know whose lives you touch." And Emily, that includes YOU.

Thanks for your comment. You just touched my life.

Russ
