You asked whether a role switch from Rescuer to Persecutor or from Victim to Persecutor could be prevented: Not in the confines of the Rescue Game one it has begun. As is usually the case, it is much better to prevent the problem in the first place. As therapists, we can help do that by seeing our own role and responsibility with clear eyes.
