Yes. I can understand why you previously have not thought there may be a connection between the menstrual cycle and stuttering: The body of research on stuttering sometimes can lead us to believe that stuttering itself can exist independently of human beings' complex emotional, physiologic, and cognitive interactions. This is because so much of the research has been conducted in a behaviorist vacuum. i.e., environment where emotions, world views, personal constructs, physiological well-being, etc. were simply discounted as irrelevant.

Our study using the menstrual cycle as a natural experiment begins to demonstrate just how important it to approach observations holistically.
