I am a 40 year old SLP, quit making 48 sound old !!!!!! :) Seriously, I was very awakened by your side of the SLP picking you out in the classroom. I really don't think I have been very sensitive to that at work. Going to speech is not the big deal it used to be, just ask my third grage teacher who has to tell her students to "sit back down and leave Monica alone"! Thank goodness it has changed and hopefully now therapy will be updated and more people can get REAL help for stuttering. In the mean time I will have to be aware if any of my kids seem embarassed to come with me. Thanks for sharing and remember-you are only as old as your plastic surgeon is skilled!
