I am a student currently enrolled in a fluency disorder class, who happened to find your paper insightful and forthcoming. I am glad to hear that the lines of communication are now open between your dad and you. In addition, I would like to comment that the road to acceptance has taken place for you by starting your own support group. Way to go, Craig! I also think the support group, along with therapy and frienships, will be part of your healing process. This is true because you are contributing to the community, and you feel needed and accepted just as you are. Remember, if you accept yourself as you are others will sense your self-acceptance, and thus, accept you for who you are. They will look past your stuttering and see a person with many wonderful qualities. I wish you the best in your support group and all that you undertake.
