As a private practitioner, I am always facing the gap between the "haves" and the "have nots". My practice has provided free parent seminars for the past 7 years, as well as funded my web site. Both of these projects have cost me thousands of dollars each year to promote and support. In the 8 years of operation, my private practice has not made a single dollar of profit (i.e., that is exactly how much I have been paid during the past 8 years of working). I apologize for the harsh tone of my response; however, after 8 years of providing a range of "free" services for the "haves and the have nots", I am facing the closure of my private practice.
