Michael and Scott,

I enjoyed reading your review of some important points to remember in incorporating counseling into fluency therapy. I particularly appreciated your comments on the need for practice. I am currently seeing a few private fluency clients, in addition to continuing my supervision of students, and I find that it is quite helpful to review a session at its conclusion. I identify where I hit the mark, where I missed a good opportunity to take the client a little further in evaluating their feelings, and places where I can think of perhaps a better way of dealing with an issue. I keep notes to myself for future reference, and hope, by this means, to improve my counseling skills. It is heartening to hear from you all that I may not be the only one who has to learn it the hard way!

Thanks for your suggestions and encouragement.

Regards,

Lynne
