I think that counseling between the SLP and client is an integral part of any treatment program. I would also like to note the positive effects group therapy can have for people who stutter. I was able to be part of a group for people who stutter at a university clinic. The members got to share their feelings regarding stuttering. It seemed to have positive effects for everyone involved.
