The original Myer's Field House provided years of classroom, athletic, and intramural practicce and competition space as well as a student weight room and open gym area. Unfortunately, the times have caught up with the Field House new NCAA track specifications and a need for increased space have caused the need for a new Field House.

Phase 1 of this three-part project is replacement of Myers Field House, which was funded by the 1998 Legislature, with construction starting in April 2000. The new 84,000 sq. ft. field house will be a state-of-the-art facility that supports NCAA track and field events; practice space for softball, baseball, tennis, and student intramurals; along with a multi-purpose venue for the departments of Human Performance and Recreation.

We thank the Legislature for their support.
