Auditions for BFA actors and musical theatre students, and interviews/portfolio reviews for design/technical students, are held twice a year: In the spring in conjunction with Talent Grant auditions (usually the last Saturday of February or first Saturday of March), and the week before classes begin in the fall (usually that Thursday afternoon). Applications may be submitted at any time and will be held until the next regularly scheduled auditions, at which time applicants will be contacted. Personal auditions are required for admission to the BFA program.

A resume with all theatre experience beginning with your junior year in high school. List in chronological order (beginning with the most recent).
A 150-word essay telling us why you want the BFA degree.
Two letters of recommendation: one from a teacher, another from a director/designer with whom you have worked (if not attached, please note when it will be received by us).

Audition Information

For the Acting track:

90-second comedic monologue
90-second dramatic monologue
32-bar musical selection from a ballad

For Musical Theatre track:

90-second comedic monologue
90-second dramatic monologue
Up to 64 bars from a ballad
Up to 64 bars from an uptempo song
A movement audition (come prepared to move)

For the Theatre Design/Technology interview:

Present your portfolio, which should include materials such as: pictures of design work, renderings, sketches, drafting, pictures of models, prompt books, light plot, sound plots, etc.
