Primavera P6

This course introduces the student to CPM planning and scheduling, including work breakdown structures (WBS), activities, predecessors and successors, scheduling logic, network diagrams and float calculations. The course will also introduce the student to the basics of Primavera P6 Rel 8 software.

Who should take this course: Anyone who is interested in scheduling but does not have a foundational knowledge of both scheduling concepts and Primavera P6 Rel 8.


Objectives: (CPM 101 Learner Outcomes)

  • Participants will gain a full understanding of basic Critical Path Method definitions and processes including building a WBS, creating activities, assigning relationships and executing a forward and backward pass. 
  • Given a list of scheduling activities, participants will be able to draw a precedence diagram and calculate float
  • Participants will be gain a basic understanding of how CPM schedules are expressed in Primavera P6.
