Mentor Suggested Procedures:
- Be prepared to be contacted by one or more potential mentees by phone, email, or in person. You can enter into a mentoring relationship with more than one person if you wish, or decide that one is enough.
- If you are available, help the person who contacts you to arrange a first introductory meeting time and place. It is recommended that this meeting be brief, perhaps 1/2 hour at the most, and serves as an opportunity for both mentee and mentor to determine if they are a good match for each other (see Suggestions for First Meeting).
- Enjoy yourself while you and your partner continue cultivating your mentoring relationship.
- Be open to providing feedback on the Mentor Match project after the first year. You will be contacted and asked if you and/or your mentee have helpful feedback or an anonymous testimonial to offer (see Assessment).
