These awards recognize student and faculty excellence in creative and/or research-based work pertaining to women and/or gender-related issues. We invite students and faculty members to submit original work for consideration. Award recipients will be honored at the annual Women of Courage and Vision Awards reception in spring semester, and will receive a $350 cash award.
Student submissions must be original work either submitted for academic credit during the current academic year or created by currently enrolled students for the specific consideration of the Commission. The Commission encourages the submission of either completed or "in progress" master's theses and alternate plan papers.
Faculty submissions must be original work in progress or work completed for presentation after March of the previous academic year.
Topics could include, but are by no means limited to the following themes:
The Commission on the Status of Women will review all submissions and select one outstanding project for each category (undergraduate, graduate, faculty) that is original, unites theory and practice, promotes positive change for women's lives, and is presented in an interesting, clear and engaging way
