Mission Statement
The Primary Goal of the Asian Pacific American Conference is to build student leadership and to provide an opportunity for academic scholars, students, professionals and community members to discuss the issues that affect the Asian Pacific American community on a local, national and international level
Asian Pacific American Conference Objectives
- To provide an intellectual forum for academicians and students with paper presentations and panel discussions of the history, culture and contemporary issues confronting the development and future of the APA community
- To maximize student involvement and provide leadership opportunities
- To discuss and analyze the impact of racism and colonialism and how they have affected the lives and conditions of APAs
- To expose students to leaders, scholars and community members who can clarify issues pertinent to APA
- To enhance understanding and appreciation of the history and culture of APAs
- To reduce the social and cultural isolation of APA students on college and university campuses
