The Clothesline Project (CLP) acts as a vehicle for change and awareness-raising of the widespread, but often secretive problem of violence against women and girls. After t-shirts are decorated, they are hung on a clothesline to be viewed by others, an “airing of” the often hidden problem of domestic and sexual violence. Survivors of sexual and domestic violence and friends and loved ones of victims and survivors will have the opportunity to design a shirt in a safe place to share their experiences, thoughts and feelings. Advocates will be close by throughout the event.
