The Office of Latino Affairs is proud to present the “Plaza Comunitaria”. Plaza Comunitaria is a project originally created by the National Institute of Adult Education (INEA) in Mexico, and this project attempts to dignify adult education. Plaza comunitaria was established through a partnership between Minnesota State University, Mankato (MNSU) and the Institute of Mexicans in the Exterior (IME). The mission is to offer educational services free of charge for all Latino residents in the community who reside in southern Minnesota (Mankato and surrounding communities). Plaza Comunitaria utilizes both, technological and didactic resources to provide elementary and high school education.
The Plaza Comunitaria program provides a worthy place where students will utilize the necessary resources in order to begin or continue their education. Classes will be offer in an independent way to ensure that participants comprehend the material presented in the different areas such as reading, writing, math, etc.
More information will be coming soon. In the meantime, should you have any questions, please contact Latino Affairs at (507) 389-2811.
