Assistance in the recruitment of underrepresented students: The Assistant Directors visit schools, community agencies and organizations connected with students who may potentially attend MSU and advocate for these students to be admitted.
Counseling Services: Academic, personal, and financial advising are important to young people who are attending higher education institutions. These services are an important part of our services.
Peer Tutoring and Counseling Program: Student volunteers are always available and willing to assist their peers with academic tutoring, personal discussions or just talking about adjustment to MSU.
Social-cultural programs and activities: Social-cultural programs are held on campus weekly including major events such as four?ethnic conferences and Asian American new year celebrations to small group get-togethers.
Scholarships: The Office of Institutional Diversity maintains many scholarships and endowment including the Cultural Diversity Program Scholarship, African American Awareness Scholarship, Asian American Awareness Scholarship, Chicano-Mexicano-Latino American Awareness?Scholarship, Little Crow Scholarship and many others.

MECA-Multicultural Exposure to Corporate America: A MnSCU and 3M collaborative, MECA is a part of the cultural diversity initiative. The program is designed to encourage minority students to consider business as a career or to prepare students for a corporate environment.
