SHPE

The Purpose and objective of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Student Chapter is to:

1. Promote the study of science and engineering among Hispanic men and women college students
2. Introduce students to professionals in various branches of engineering
3. Make students aware of employment and scholarship opportunities in their respective fields
4. Develop a mutual academic support system and promote academic achievement with Hispanic students
5. Motivate Hispanic students to transfer to university programs
6. Provide recognition to graduating students
7. Encourage high school students to attend college, particularly Minnesota State University, Mankato
8. Promote and participate in cultural and social activities
9. Promote relationships with SHPE programs at other colleges and universities as well as professional SHPE, Inc. chapters.
