The Intercultural Student Center is a department of the Division of Institutional Diversity which provides a focal point for cross cultural programs and activities.  A primary function of the center, which is operated by students, is to provide a place in which students of color and others at the University can exchange and reinforce their cultural existence.  The center is a basic component of the cultural diversity retention effort which helps to reduce social cultural isolation and connect students from diverse backgrounds to the University. It displays multicultural artwork and artifacts, much of which was donated by students, faculty, staff and community members.
The Intercultural Student Center has been inexistence since 1975.  This facility was created out of the ever growing need for ethnic students to have a common place to relax, network and reduce feelings of social / cultural isolation at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
The center can be reserved for organizations whose meetings specifically relate to the promotion of cultural awareness. The center offers a kitchen facility which can be used during your meetings.  A small deposit is required.
