As founder of the Pan African Student Leadership Conference, I welcome your participation in this significant conference. The primary purpose of the conference is to provide a forum for all people of to meet and discuss issues and concerns, which affect the development and prosperity of African people throughout the world with emphasis placed on the United States. The conference also provides opportunities for students to demonstrate their scholarship and academic excellence by presenting scholarly papers and participating on panel discussions. The conference has maintained its primary goal to maximize opportunities for students to become acquainted with career and employment opportunities. To that extent we have selected a special time during the conference for recruiters to discuss career options with delegates.
Exhibitors are encouraged to bring handouts to be given to delegates. Please identify items to be distributed at the conference in the space provided on the application form.
Over the past 30 years, the Pan African Student Leadership Conference has brought together scholars and leaders from all corners of the world. The 33rd Pan African Student Leadership Conference, to be held February 25-28, 2009 on the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus, will allow you to meet and interact with hundreds of academically talented students of African heritage. These students represent a large constituency of private and public institutions in the Midwest and abroad. This broad representation of students presents an excellent opportunity for those of African heritage to explore career options.
Vendors and exhibitors benefit from this annual event which has in attendance a cross-section of the brightest African American students representing institutions of higher education throughout the United States. Other participants include representatives from a variety of state/national institutes, a number of agencies, commissions, associations and foundations. This conference, for students and professionals, has become an annual event in which a number of institutions return year after year. In addition to over 1000 conference participants, exhibitors displaying in the Centennial Student Union will also be exposed to the overall Minnesota State University, Mankato population of over 13,500 students.
Vendors will also benefit from this conference as many of the delegates are interested in books, clothing, jewelry, and other items of Afro-centric heritage. Vendors will also be exposed to the overall Minnesota State University, Mankato student body which will be encouraged to visit the exhibit area.
The exhibit areas are open on Wednesday, February 25 through Saturday, February 28, 2009. The hours are from 8:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. If you are not able to attend the conference, you may wish to put an ad in the conference event program. Exhibitors are to provide a representative to discuss career and employment opportunities during the hours in which the exhibit area is open. Vendors and Exhibitors are expected to have a representative at the table at all times. Exhibitors and recruiters may request interview space and meeting rooms to allow them to discuss their organizations. Meeting space is limited, however, we will accommodate on a first come basis.
Note: Special time has been set-aside on Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 8-10:00 a.m. for exhibitors to host small group discussions on the career and employment opportunities available in their companies. Recruiters will have access to all of the resumes submitted by student delegates seeking employment, internships and career information.
Exhibitor/Vendor space is located on the first level of the Centennial Student Union. Exhibitor space will be assigned in priority order according to receipt of registration.

Student organizations that wish to exhibit or vend at the conference must submit a proposal to the Office of Institutional Diversity. The proposal should state the name of your organization and institution and the purpose for display.

Minnesota State University, Mankato is not responsible for stolen or damaged Exhibitor and Vendor property.
Exhibitors/vendors are not allowed to bring their own table(s) but are encouraged to bring their own loading unloading equipment (carts, etc.)
Only 1 clothes rack per vendor is allowed, and it must be less than 8 feet long. Vendors/Exhibitors may request additional space.
Please complete the attached registration form. Mail the form along with a check, money order or purchase order, with total amount due and your business ad. You will then receive a letter confirming your exhibiting/vending location.
Storage and parking permits will be provided for you at the conference registration site. You are advised to come directly to the conference registration site to receive instructions on unloading and parking.
