The Office of Disability Services, where appropriate, may recommend that a student with a qualifying disability be permitted to audio record class lectures as a form of academic accommodation. Use of the accommodation of audio recording class lectures is subject to the following conditions:
Some classes involve discussion of confidential material which is not appropriate to be audio-recorded. In these cases, the instructor may turn off the recorder for the portion of the discussion that is confidential.
Students who have been granted permission to audio record class lectures an an accommodation must agree in writing to abide by each of these provisions. Eligible students should notify the Office of Disability Services which class they intend to record and sign an agreement form prior to using this accommodation.
