Beyond sign language interpreting, CART (communication access realtime translation) or Typewell are the transcription services used at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The service is similar to captioning as it provides those who are deaf and hard of hearing access to the spoken word. It is useful for those who do not use interpreters or when written English is a more reasonable accommodation for a particular setting.
All requests for interpreting and transcribing services are made through the Office of Disability Services. Therefore, all inquiries and requests must be referred to the lead interpreter:
