Alternative Testing
This service is in place for those students whose disability accommodations recommend adjustments to typical in class testing. Students pust have supporting documentation on file with the Disability Services Office indicating a need for testing accommodations. Some of these accommodations include, but are not limited to, a distraction free environment, extended testing time, a scribe, a test reader or test on tape, a computer for word processing, use of a calculator, oral testing, etc.
Initial Procedures:
- Students can pick up Alternative Test Agreement Form(s) in the Disability Services Office.
- Students need to complete Section 1 (student section) of the Alternative Test Agreement From(s).
- Disability Services Office staff will complete Section 2, listing accommodations on the form. Afterward, the form will be signed by the Julie Snow.
- Each form is mailed to the corresponding professor along with a sheet detailing their responsibilities. They sign the form and mail it back to the Disability Services Office (with this accommodation the professor does know which student is receiving it, however (s)he is not allowed to divulge that information to others).
- Students must complete one agreement per class per term.
On-Going Procedures:
- For each test you wish to take using the accommodations you must schedule a test day and time with Becky at the Disability Services Office, 507-389-2825, a minimum of 5 days before the test. Becky is available Monday - Friday 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- The Disability Services Office staff informs the professor, picks up the test for you to take in the office's alternative testing room and delivers the test once you have completed it.
- Test are administered Monday-Friday, 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Night class tests must be taken between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on the day of the test.
