| The purpose of
this Java program is to allow you to try your hand at determining the proper
chronological order the sites should be in according to their seriation. The width of the column indicates how popular the artifact type was in that
site. When the sites are in the proper order each column should appear and
widen gradually then narrow gradually and disappear, like the example on the
right.
To use this applet, you will need a browser that supports Java
1.2. Netscape 4.x or higher and Internet Explorer 4.X or higher support
it by default. Opera and the rest can use the
plug-in that
Sun developed. To make sure that Java
is turned on in your browser, you can use the author's
tests.
