This project was conducted by Impact Services Incorporated under contract with the Blue Earth County Highway Department. The purpose of the survey was to evaluate ten prehistoric archaeological sites which were to be impacted or destroyed by the realignment of County Road 2.

Of all of the sites tested, only four contained significant cultural resources. It was proposed that three of the four sites be covered with clean clay as a protective measure prior to road construction. The three sites were large habitation sites, mostly undisturbed. Rather than mitigate them, it was decided to simply preserve them for later investigation.
