mankato flood control

The Mankato Area Flood Control Project was conducted by the Minnesota State University, Mankato Museum of Anthropology under contract with the US Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District. The areas of impact by construction of the flood control project were subject to both visual reconnaissance and shovel testing. Additionally, test excavations were done in those areas where archaeological sites were deemed significant enough to warrant more intensive investigation.
