Trundholm

Located in Denmark, the Trundholm Site is best represented by the oaken coffins buried under large mounds during the Bronze Age dating to 900 B.C. After this time cremation becomes the preferred practice of dealing with the dead. Artifacts found at the site include the Sun Cart, which was unearthed at Trundholm Bog on Sjaelland. It resembles a golden horse pulling a golden sun on six wheels. It is one of Denmark's most famous archaeological finds. This artifact depicts the practice of magic, or more specifically a solar religion. A horn-like bronze instrument called a Lurer has been located in this area from the same time period.
