The Cambria
site is located on a terrace near the Minnesota River about fifteen miles
upstream from the Minnesota's juncture with the Blue Earth River (at Mankato,
Minnesota). The people that lived on the Cambria Site thrived on hunting,
fishing and cultivating corn, pumpkins and sunflowers. There is a strong belief
that they hunted and ate a great deal of deer, fish and turtles. Their ceramics
remains have a wide range of influences, such as
Middle
Missouri, Mill Creek, Red Wing area, and
Cahokia.
Cambrians also used both side notched and unnotched projectile points for
hunting. (Scullin, 1996)
