Introduction History Methods Findings

Introduction

Applied archeologists play important roles in preserving cultural resources from the past. When road construction was planned in a national park at Aztec, New Mexico, applied archeologists conducted research to determine the presence of prehistorical remains in the area. The findings revealed that the road construction site contained significant archeological material and changed the construction procedures in order to protect the cultural resources.
