Research Procedures
The goal of the Silvernale
project was to accurately define the
outskirts and the layout of the Silvernale village. First, researchers made preliminary maps of
the boundary of Silvernale village. Next, they dug on some parts of the
site. The table below presents the numbers of various artifacts found from the
excavation. Finally, researchers located the archeological remnants under the
surface of the ground by using two kinds of equipment: magnetometers and
electric resistance meters. This investigation indicated the existence of houses or
large middens (a mound of garbage from cooking). For detailed
information about the equipments, go to
Methods under Pueblo
Remains.
