Applied Anthropology

Faculty and students at Minnesota State University, Mankato, conducted the applied anthropological projects listed on the left.

Applied anthropology aims to identify and solve social problems by introducing culturally appropriate changes. Various agencies, including governmental and non-governmental organizations, ethnic associations, and businesses, use research findings of applied anthropologists. With anthropological perspectives, agencies can formulate more effective programs which better fit the cultural contexts of their host communities.
