Echinacea angustifolia DC. (narrow leaved purple cone flower)

It was an antidote for snakebite. Also burned it and smoke inhaled for headaches. A piece kept on a tooth relieved tootheaches, as well as enlarged glands, like mumps. The juice of the plant was put on burns to relieve pain and rubbed on hands to make heat endurable.

Epilobium angustifolium L. (fireweed)

The leaves, fresh or dried, were made into a poultice and applied to bruises or to remove a sliver.

Equisetum hiemale L. (scouring rush)

Erysimum cheiranthoides L. (wormseed mustard)

The root mixed in water was applied to skin eruptions.

Euonymus atropurperea Jacq. (burning bush)

The inner bark was mixed with water and drunk for uterine trouble.

Eupatorium maculatum L. (joe pye weed)

The root mixed with water was used as a wash for inflammation of the joints.

Euphorbia serpyllifolia Pers.

The plant was boiled and drunk to produce milk. The leaves dried and pulverized were placed on cuts on abdomen and forehead to induce bowel movement.

Euthamia graminifolia (L.) Nutt. (goldenrod)

The root was mixed with water and drunk, said to be good for chest pains and lung troubles.
