Ethnozoology is a sub-field of anthropology concerned with the relationship between animals and humans throughout human history. Zooarchaeology and archaeozoology, which primarily focus on the identification and interpretation of animal remains from an archaeological context, are disciplines included in ethnozoology. The discipline of ethnozoology, as this web site represents, focuses on the ways in which animals influence the people they interact with. We will see how people throughout the history of civilization have adapted to the animals they share their environment with and utilized animals for food, clothing, work, worship, and companionship.
