The Zoroastrian religion began in Iran with a prophet known as Zoroaster , whose origins are not known nor what century he lived in.  Scholars believe that Zoroaster lived sometime between the 13^th and 6^th century B.C.  Zoroaster brought monotheism to Iran, worshipping one god Ahura Mazda over the pantheon of Iranian gods.
