Wendell Clark Bennett was born in Marion, Indiana in 1905 (Bennett). He attended college at the University of Chicago and became an anthropologist. He was a staff specialist in Andean Archaeology at the American Museum of Natural History in the 30's (Biography, 1997). He led many expeditions and published many books. One of Bennett's books is entitled "Andean Culture History", whom he co-wrote with Junius B. Bird. It was published in 1964. He also wrote "Ancient Arts of the Andes", along with "The Tarahumara" which is about an Indian tribe in northern Mexico (Bennett). After 1940, Bennett taught at Yale (Biography, 1997). Some of his work hasn't been published until more recent times because it has been revised and there are now second editions of the books. Wendell Clark Bennett died in the year 1953.
