Jean-Marie Benoist

?-1990

Jean-Marie Benoist is a rather unknown French anthropologist. The little information available about her was that she was "one of the French new-philosophers of the sixties." (1) She wrote several books, especially in the 1970's, including; “Tyrannie du Logos”, “Les Outils de la Liberte”, “Pavane pour une Europe Defunte”, and “The Structural Revolution”.  Benoist was a cultural anthropologist that was interested in structuralism and structural analysis. She died in 1990. Her birth date, family history, and schooling were unobtainable. She did contribute to her field, but not enough to have biographies of her life and work published in English.
