Guy Gibbon

1939 -

    Guy Gibbon was born in Madison Wisconsin, on April 19, 1939. He attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and received his Ph.D. in 1969. He is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota. Gibbon has been been published in History, The Minnesota Archeologist, Plains Anthropologist, American Antiquity, The Wisconsin Archeologist and the American Journal of Physical Anthropology.

    Gibbon's archeological studies have ranged from prehistoric social systems, systems analysis, relationships between mathematical techniques, and theory building. In addition he has been involved in interdisciplinary research, with specific interest in the post-Pleistocene in western and central Europe, and the Upper Mississippi river drainage system.

Guy Gibbon currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was married in 1964 to Annchem Heimburger and they have two daughters, Hillary and Cristine.
