Tiled Images
Tiled images are images that are set one next to another multiple times.
This is an example of an image that would be tiled:

When it is repeated multiple times, the background would look something like this:








There are six of the images in the image above, three in the top row and three in the bottom row. You can not see where one image ends and the next one begins. This is because the top and bottom of the single image match each other and the right and left sides of the single image match each other. If they didn't match each other, like this image:

then when you tiled the image together, you would be able to see where one image ended and the next began:






This is very hard to look at when it is used as a background. So, it's a good idea to make sure that sure that the image you use for your background is seamless, that is, that you can't tell the where one image ends and the next one begins.
